65@65 SWIM #10 LOUGH MASK, COUNTY MAYO

Updated: Jun 30

A fierce day, as yesterday, plenty of chop, slow going out, almost surfing back (in my imagination). My biggest fear - that the wind and waves would rip off the cord on my tow bag and take it to an unclear destination 15km north of where I am. The fear within the fear is that I have my passport in the tow bag to keep it safe. Rehearsed what I would say to the High Commission in Dublin - 'honestly, that is what really happened - really...' Needless to say, the tow bag survived, my passport was safe, and coming back it pushed against my head like a friendly seal (now I know what a friendly seal feels like in the water).
